Distinguished ACM Speaker:
Ashish Verma
Based in India

Ashish Verma received his Bachelor of Engineering degree Electronics and Communication) in 1995 from M. M. M. Engineering College and Master of Engineering degree (Electrical Communication Engineering) in 1997 from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. He received his Ph. D degree from Indian Instiute of Technology, Delhi in 2006 in the area of voice conversion. Ashish is a senior member of IEEE.

Ashish is working as a Research Staff Member at IBM India Research Laboratory, New Delhi since 1998 and currently managing the speech and business intelligene group at the lab. At IBM, he has been involved in several speech related projects, such as automatic spoken language evaluation, audio-visual speech recognition, text-to-speech synthesis, speech recognition system for Indian languages, etc. His areas of interest include speech processing, business intelligence solutions and pattern recognition.
