Abstract
The Internet as we have known it for the past three+ decades is in the midst of a major and disruptive change. “The Internet of Things (IOT)” will bring opportunities that could hardly be imagined in the past and new challenges that must be faced head-on in the future. A conversation about how to prepare for the issues and the impact of the new technology shaping the IOT is of critical importance.

This lecture will address the fundamental concepts of the IOT and distinguish between the hype and fact that surrounds it. Case studies demonstrating the diversity of IOT applications will also be described.
