Abstract
This talk provides an overview of the field of medical image analysis, with emphasis on the recent impact of increasingly popular deep learning techniques on the design and implementation of intelligent medical imaging-based diagnosis systems. This lecture includes the following main topics: (1) Fundamentals of medical image analysis; (2) Fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML); (3) Designing medical image analysis systems using ML techniques; (4) Deep learning: fundamentals, tools and frameworks; (5) Deep learning in medical applications: examples, datasets, benchmarks, and challenges.
